The western part of Ethiopia is the least discovered regions of the country. The area is endowed with abundant natural resources, wild animals and bird species; it is covered with lush forests and fertile soil where vegetables, fruits, spices and different crops are growing on large plantations. The country’s major export, coffee is discovered and abundantly grows in this region, here organic forest coffee grows as part of natural forest.
Western Ethiopia is inhabited by different tribes such as Agnuak, Nuer, Oromo and others with rich culture and traditions. |Day 1. Arrival
Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, You will be greeted with the company (Omo Tour & Car Rent) representative at the airport and transferred to the hotel. (Depending on your arrival time city tour can be arranged)
|Day 2. Addis Ababa - Nekemte
Drive to Nekemte to the western direction of the country. En route, sightseeing visits to Shoa & Wolega beautiful scenery and rural villages. Overnight, local hotel
|Day 3. Nekemt - Metu
Drive to Metu: after crossing Didasa River, stop at the town of Bedele for lunch. Then drive through the indigenous natural forests of Western Ethiopia. It helps to experience the life of the local people residing in the region. Overnight local hotel
|Day 4. Metu - Gambella
Continue driving to Gambella via Gore. En route visit the indigenous natural forest of Western Ethiopia. This place is famous in tea farms, and make short visit to the Gumero tea field. Overnight Gambella in Hotel
|Day 5: Gambella
Morning, drive to Gambella Park and around Baro River. In the afternoon, an excursion trip to Itang to visit the Neuer people. Overnight, Gambella in Hotel
|Day 6. Gambela - Mizan Teferi
Drive from Gambella to Mizan Teferi. On the way visit the Menit , Yem and the Dizi tribes. Overnight at local Hotel
|Day 7. Mizan - Kibish
After breakfast, Continue driving further to the west from Mizan Teferi to Tum (180 Kms) through Bebeka coffee plantation, Ethiopia’s largest old coffee plantation. On the way visit the Menit tribe. After crossing the Akobo River you will experience the African Savanna grassland. After short lunch break at the little town of Dimma, Pass the small Surma's village of Tulgit and drive to Kibish. The rest of the day, trek around your campsite to visit the Surma people. Overnight camping at KIbish
|Day 8. Kibish
Whole day visit of the Surma people and their villages: Drive 7kms to the nearby Surma village (Old Kibish) to see their settlement. Overnight Camping at Kibish
Day 9. Kibish - Mizan
Drive back to Mizan teferi via Dima town. Overnight at local hotel
|Day 10. Mizan - Jimma
Drive from Mizan Teferi to Jimma (240 kms) through Ethiopia’s indigenous dense forest. The people living in this area are from Kefecho, Yem and Bench ethnic groups. This place is famous in coffee, tea and spice production. Overnight at Hotel
|Day 11. Jimma - Addis Ababa
After breakfast, drive to Addis Ababa. Evening you will have a fare well dinner party in one of the traditional Ethiopian restaurants with dances from the different ethnic groups. Finally transfer to the airport for your departure
